Hailey, who feels lucky to work with the Savory SC crew, met Rhett Thomas and Steven Stackley shortly after graduating from Johnson and Whales in 2001. At the time, Hailey was Sous Chef of Blossom Café with Rhett as the lead line cook and Steven ruled the Bakery.


While preparing for a sailing/culinary adventure, Hailey work at Atlanticville on Sullivan’s Island. During this time, she also worked with Traci who made her famous Tomato Pie, Casserole. The spent time catering for various events including weddings on the beach.


While sailing, Hailey was fortunate enough to experience cuisines from the USVI, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Panama and almost all countries in South America. After all the traveling, she returned to Charleston in 2007 and became the Sous Chef of the Mustard Seed of Mt. Pleasant.


On March, 27, 2008, Rhett and Hailey took the huge leap and made Sushi by Rhett official. On August 13, 2008, Sushi by Rhett partnered with Traci from Savory Market to form TUFF, LLC d/b/a Savory Sushi & Catering.
