Charleston Networking

Around 6pm tonight, Anna Claire and I traveled downtown for a breezy evening of networking at the Seabreeze Hotel & Dock.   I went to Johnson & Wales just down the street and never even knew this place existed.  I think being 22 had something to do with it but I was very pleasantly surprised.  We took a right off of East Bay Street onto Morrison Dr to find a short line of stopped traffic waiting for a slowly moving train. It honestly couldn’t make up its mind which way it wanted to go.  Anna Claire and I were patient and both pulled out our phones to play our favorite games.  I have been addicted to Angry Birds for a while now and AC was playing scrabble.  We waited for 20 minutes or so I also found a Ninja Fruit game that is completely ridiculous but entertaining.

The train finally passed and along with 15 other waiting cars, we all made our way to the party on the dock.  It was a stunning venue and the decor was beautiful.  Event DRS and ICE Box, as well as all the other venders (listed at the end of this post) did a wonderful job .  We talked with old friends as well as new ones and really enjoyed the evening.  Mind you, it was quite windy so AC and I were so glad we had our coats in the 4Runner to keep us warm.  Cru Catering served mac and cheese in these very cute dishes from Event DRS.  It was good but I have to say that I felt sorry for the chef manning that station.  It did not look like fun.  The wind was just too much but she kept everything under control perfectly.  The bartenders also had to fight the wind to keep everything in place and not only succeeded at that but gave service with a smile.

All in all, I can say that my experience to date with the Charleston Bridal Association is a positive one.  I am able to meet so many new people as well as re-connect with old friend and co-workers.  I have had so many people see the Savory logo on my shirt, stop me to tell me how much they love Savory Sushi.

Our friend and rep for Grapevine Distributors, Glenn, gave Anna Claire and I two preview tickets to the Charleston Wine and Food last week.  Wearing the Savory shirt does wonders.  I learn from my dad.  He wears a Cox Industries shirt or hat almost every day which creates recognition.  I know this works because as soon as we walked into the tasting tent, a lady working at the second booth calls over to us to tell us how much she and her friends love Savory Sushi.  I can’t tell you how awesome that makes me feel inside.  I totally light up inside which ignites a smile on my face from ear to ear.  I’m sure my cheeks get a little rosy also.   That is the feeling  that adds the fuel to our fire here at Savory Sushi.

Thank you to all who support us and want to watch us grow.
