Our Story

Savory Sushi and Catering has been a full service catering company and lunch spot for 10 years! Along the way we have made footprints in both the New York Times and Elle Magazine!

Chefs, Steven, Rhett and Hailey met in 2001 shortly after graduation from Johnson & Whales University. Rhett & Hailey created the catering company, Sushi by Rhett in March of 2008. With Steven’s help the trio became Charleston's only sushi bar on wheels and on Wednesday evenings, Sushi by Rhett teamed up with Savory Market for Sushi at Savory.

In early August, the group at Sushi by Rhett and Traci of Savory Market decided to team up and make big things happen. Traci, Hailey & Rhett created TUFF, LLC and, after a few weeks of renovating, opened the door to Savory Sushi & Catering.

In October Savory SC was able to bring Steven on full time as our TUFF Sous Chef, and the rest is history.

TUFF, LLC also known as Savory Sushi & Catering has been in business since October 08 but as you will see Savory Sushi & Catering has a much longer history.

There are four essential members who run Savory SC (Sushi & Catering); Hailey, Rhett, Traci & Steven.

Thanks to everyone who has shown support for Savory SC! It really means a lot considering what a year 2008 was! The crew is very excited for the future and hope you will visit soon!
